We have exciting things planned for the salon for 2016! The salon is moving in a more eco minded direction, something we feel passionately about and something I know our clients do too. Almost all of the new interior is made from reclaimed materials. We have a reclaimed wooden floor going in and our mirrors and styling unit are made from unwanted church pews. Other items in the salon like our reception desk, shampoo stations etc will be upcycled. As we are starting new again, we have been able to move over to all low energy lighting and we are starting to move all our new electrical devices over to low energy versions (we have ordered new Parlux Eco hair driers, and an eco washing machine for example). We have always recycled in the salon and will continue in our commitment to reduce waste and dramatically cut what is sent to land fill. We are committed to the environment in the cleaning products we use, using Ecover.
We have put a lot of thought into our product ranges are have made a decision to use only products that are paraben and sulphate free and that are not tested on animals. We are also committed to working with more local companies like the Edinburgh based company Cahoonas, and north of England based Hairbond whose products do not contain any of the above and are cruelty free.
Finally, we are now supporting the UK charity Water Aid. We feel blessed to have an abundant supply so feel it is vital to support this charity which is committed to getting safe water, sanitation and hygiene to everyone, everywhere by 2030.
